East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, representing the Jakarta Acting Governor, inaugurated the Transjakarta Jatinegara 2 Bus Stop, which is integrated with Jatinegara Train Station, Wednesday (1/4).
The inauguration was marked by cutting the ribbon followed by observing the two-story bus stop area. On that occasion, the mayor was accompanied by PT Transjakarta Director, M Yana Aditya, PT KAI Director, Didiek Hartanti, and several officials.

"With integration like this, people just have to enter the bus stop and then just choose whether you want to go to the station or the Transjakarta bus stop and even with Rawa Bening Market," he expressed.
PT Transjakarta Director, M. Yana Aditya explained that it is the first stop to be inaugurated. It would be continued with the Cikoko, Juanda, and Matraman bus stops. The Jatinegara bus stop has two floors stretching from west to east.
"Before being revitalized, the bus stop could accommodate maximally 164 people during normal hours and 328 people during peak hours. Then now it can accommodate around 600 people during normal hours and 1,200 people during rush hour," he explained.
It also has a lift and a ladder on the left and right sides of Jalan Bekasi Timur, including 12 automatic gates and a payment gate connected with the gate of the train station and Transjakarta bus stop. There is also a toilet and a musala (a place of worship) inside the bus stop.
"We have 46 bus stops by spending a budget of Rp 600 billion," he uttered.
Aside that, the bus stop got appreciation from PT KAI President Director, Didiek Hartanti, where it is the main key in developing transportation or sustainable marketing.
"We also have cooperated with the Jakarta administration to revitalize stations in Jakarta," he uttered.
According to him, Jatinegara Station has now become one of the places where long-distance trains depart, starting commuter lines and executive trains.
"My hope is it can attract the public to use mass transportation modes," he concluded.
